WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT

ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN

The Bay County Department of Water & Sewer (BCDWS) is seeking resumes from qualified persons for an Electrical/Electronic Technician at the West Bay Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is a full-time union position. The normal schedule for this position is Monday thru Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm.

Qualifications include: A valid Michigan driver license with clean driving record. A Class CDL B license with N endorsement and air brake endorsement, or ability to obtain such license within 6 months of hire; training and testing will be paid for by BCDWS. Experience working with electronic systems preferred. Experience in engineering and electrical work strongly preferred.

The annual salary for this position starts at $57,532 and progresses to $66,102 over 24 months based on the 2025 fiscal year wage scale. OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

The Bay County Department of Water & Sewer is seeking resumes from qualified persons for a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Specialist at Bay County Department of Water and Sewer. This is a full-time union position.

The annual base salary for this position starts at $50,419 and progresses to $56,908 over 18 months, based on the 2025 fiscal year wage scale. This position earns shift premium and lead pay on top of the base wage. Excellent fringe benefits include Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance plans, 13 paid holidays, generous paid sick and vacation, a defined benefit pension plan, and licensing/tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications include: High School Diploma and valid Michigan driver license with clean driving record. Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) class D Wastewater Certification preferred. One year of laboratory, chemical process, or environmental experience preferred.

SEASONAL EMPLOYEE

The Bay County Department of Water & Sewer is seeking qualified applicants for a Seasonal Employee. This is a full-time seasonal position, up to 40 hours per week. Employment is available April 2025 thru September 2025; exact start and end dates can be negotiated. The wage for this position is $14.50/hour.

Seasonal employees must be able to work with minimal supervision and may need to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be 18 years or older with a valid Michigan driver’s license and a clean driving record to apply. Examples of general duties include but are not limited to grounds keeping, building and/or window cleaning, painting, traffic flagging, and operation and cleaning of equipment used to complete their tasks.
